Description:
Week of (5/25/25-5/31/25) observed more precipitation compared to last week. The precipitation observed during this week was 0.60 inches. The amount of precipitation measured was more than the last update of 1.42 inches for the previous week of (5/18/25-5/24/25). There was 0 inches of snowfall measured for the week of 5/24/25-5/31/25. There was a total of 4.27 inches of precipitation was recorded at station NY-MR-89 so for the month of May compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 2.86 inches of precipitation. There is currently 0 inches of snowfall recorded at station NY-MR-89 so for the month of May compared to the normal climatological snowfall at KROC airport for the month of May is 0.1 inches. Conditions improved since the last update from last week with the area seeing more measurable precipitation over this past week and the past several weeks prior. The area is considered near normal due to the surrounding environment with the soil being moist and the backyard is squishy/muddy in spots with the drainage area in the backyard filled with water. Some evergreen plants such as Boxwoods are doing good with ample moisture over the past several weeks and Tulips and Daffodils are still present in the flowerbed similar to last week. Trees and the Red Twig Dogwood in the backyard are currently at full foliage similar to last week. The monthly snowfall was slightly below for the month of May. Outdoor activities such as hiking on local trails and grass cutting this week was challenging with less dry time and more days this week with measurable precipitation and mowing was challenging with squishy/muddy spots in the backyard. There was a total of 92.0 inches of snowfall recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the 2024-2025 winter season compared to the KROC airport receiving 88.3 inches and compared to KROC airport climatological snowfall of 102.0 inches.
