Adequate rainfall this week prompted changes to flower beds to prepare for the arrival of summer annuals.   The soil cultivated well without being sticky. Irrigating flower pot is a daily activity although automatic watering makes life easier.   A late season cold front came through on Friday but was pretty much dry for this area.  Road construction was limited to work that didn’t involve moving dirt.  Lots of birds are in the yard and at the feeding table including cardinals, blue jays, house sparrows, titmice, chickadees, brown headed cow birds, and of course squirrels.
