Since the hurricanes of last October this reporting station has only had 6.64" of rain and half of this came on only 3 days. This is about 10 to 12 inches below normal. Many trees remain partially defoliated and the ground is very dry. Freshwater lakes have dried up a few feet below normal. The last rain system that came in from the gulf only provided 0.08" There are good chances of rain coming up over the next week so we will see.
