This was another dry week with just 4.4" of snow occurring across one day; temps were seasonal to a bit warm. No moose sightings to report but the wild birds continue to empty my window feeder every day although I am sure they are storing most of the black oilers they take. Our snowpack is around 10" and has been decreasing slowly due to the lack of snow and some rather warm temps. Walking in some areas is 'exciting' as there's a layer of ice beneath maybe 4" of snow which can make staying upright a challenge. We have passed the Winter Solstice and are now beginning the slow climb to more daylight. Even though it may have been a bit warm winter is firmly in control.
