Evaporation, from Eto instrument, was 0.20" for a water balance surplus of +0.13" for the period. 2024 Season water-balance surplus is +0.90” 

Soil moisture at 4” depth averaged 1.08 cb and at 8” depth 0.87 cb. Abnormally dry soil moisture at 4”, and abnormally dry at 8”. 

Temperatures averaged 59.0 degrees, +10.7 above normal for the period. 

Soil temperatures, for the period, at 2” have averaged 53.2 degrees, 4” average is 53.6  degrees, 8” average is 53.7 degrees and 20” average is 56.0 degrees. +3.5 overall increase, on average, from the past week. 

Growing season ended on 11/3 with hard freeze of 31 degrees. Lawns are very dry and going into dormancy unless supplementally irrigated. Mowing is once less than once per week. Trees are going into full color change and past peak, and about 40% lost all their leaves. This is about three weeks early for this location.  With the warmer weather, box elder bugs are out. Birds are migrating. Squirrels are burying seeds for winter.
