We have had such a long stretch of weeks — even months — without a substantial rainfall. A few days earlier, there was a period of very light drizzle that lasted a couple of minutes and only one or 2 drops fell into the rain gauge. When the lawn service mowed the dried up back lawn next door, it looked like a dust storm was taking place. It’s lovely having sunny dry weather, but this is now extreme. In addition, the temperatures alternate between being seasonably cool for fall and unseasonably summer-like. We get 3-4 days of each during the week for the past month or two.
