With 5.97" of rain in the past week, the drought has bee broken and we've gone from severely dry to severely wet in just a few days.  The initial 1.17" recorded on 10/31 barely made any difference as it all quickly soaked in.  But the 4.8" we've received over the weekend has overcome the severely dry conditions.  That said, the neighborhood pond has recovered but has not yet breached the dam, which gives an idea of just how dry things have been here.  Typically, this much rain in a week would have the water pouring over the dam.
