Was frosty yesterday and slippery on steps. Forgot to report on this yesterday. My husband mowed the leaves into the grass on Saturday. Getting to where the trees are mostly empty of leaves. Squirrels are back taking advantage of the acorns. Chipmunks are hibernating. Got a couple raspberries. Still eating cherry tomatoes, but the vine has frozen. Using furnace mostly when temperature is below 35 degrees. Did have a couple warm days last week; heat pump worked those days. Fires reported in Massachusetts, but didn’t check on the air quality nor were we bothered by the smoke. Heard a Robin this past week and saw one male Cardinal. Flocks of Juncos are back. Mockingbirds are singing as though it was Spring on the warmer days. Saw doves, over 240 geese flew over in formation once the small snowstorm came through. Heard a duck on the Merrimack River yesterday. Turkeys, Blue Jays, Sparrows and Seagulls are in the area. Still having effects from our Covid infection from last September, but doing better. The disease is still killing lots of people; mostly people over 65. No restrictions, though except to isolate for 5 days after testing positive, then wearing a mask until tested negative. No water restrictions. Leaf peeping is over. Beautiful show of Autumn leaves, even around here. No problems with water supply. No flooding
