Conditions have worsened over the past week. Virtually no rainfall aside from 0.19" last Tuesday resulted in a significant number of brush fires in the region from the combination of dry weather and gusty winds. About a third of trees have lost their leaves for the season and most plants are dormant. Lawns continue to show some growth but there are many dried out areas. Levels on ponds and lakes remain very low for this time of year. Since it is late in the season and demand is low, only voluntary watering restrictions are in place.
